Jutta Pilz

“From the moment I started to sculpt, my life changed and I saw the world with different eyes. My constant drive to create is fed by nature and the people around me.”

Over the past 25 years, award winning sculptor Jutta Pilz has studied and explored many sculptural mediums. She works with clay for it’s tactile qualities, winterstone for it’s versatility and stability, timber for it’s natural beauty and glass for it’s colour and translucency. To complement this, Jutta’s knowledge of metal work and welding enables her to pursue any direction her adventurous mind takes. As each medium has it’s own qualities, Jutta’s work is diverse and exploratory. She is always pushing her knowledge of the medium she works with further with each creation.

“Having learnt the art of lead lighting, I wanted to take the medium further. I attended a glass casting and cold glass workshop with Richard Whitely at the Canberra University. Glass is one of the most difficult, time consuming and unforgiving of mediums but the end result is an exotic fusion of form, colour and light.”

“My favourite 3D works are classic in form, beautiful planes and voluptuous curves. Art for me needs to feed the senses, mind and heart.”

Her art commissions, both private and public can be found in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

“You may well ask what the future will bring. Not letting secrets out – there are big things on the horizon.”

Workshops are available on request at Jutta’s studio in Mudgeeraba Qld.
